Description

The 78 Bar and Kitchen is sister to other Glasgow vegan establishments such as the Flying Duck, Mono and Stereo, as well as Harmonium in Scotland. Situated in Glasgow’s West End, the 78 Bar and Kitchen is known for its wooden tables, open kitchen at one end of the room and a fire at the other.

The atmosphere is cozy, welcoming and relaxed, and all their food is 100% vegan as well. What’s more, the food is all made at a price that won’t break the bank, and their on-tap beer selection is not only vegan but extensive (as is the rest of their drinks menu.)

The bar is open right up until 1 am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, while Sunday evenings are reserved for live music and jazz, the perfect way to wind down a busy weekend.

Their food is 100% free from animal derivatives and includes larger plates of jackfruit shawarmas, classic vegan burgers and spaghetti carbonara. A variety of smaller vegan plates are also available, including charred cauliflower, crushed potatoes, confit tomatoes, salads, soups, and misto olives.

Of all their food, The 78 is well known for its delicious vegan breakfast plate served at the weekends. This serious treat includes vegan bacon, tofu scramble, tomato, mushroom, avocado, sweet potato, toasted pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, za’atar, pea shoots, toasted Freedom Bakery sourdough and home-made horseradish.

The next time you’re out looking for a burger and a pint in Glasgow (or something slightly fancier) be sure to head to the 78 Bar and Kitchen for delicious vegan food, good vibes and a welcome atmosphere.
