Description

Mono Café Bar opened its doors back in 2002, furnishing Glasgow with a unique and eclectic space to eat vegan, drink delicious beer and discover new music.

Over the first ten years, Mono has developed a reputation for good beer, great vegan food, good gigs and good times.

Mono has been fortunate to host some of the most exciting local and international bands, but have also hosted art performances, workshops, book readings and exhibitions.

They share their roof with Monorail Music, a swanky record store that offers an extensive range of independent and contemporary CDs and vinyl records. They provide both secondhand stock and also re-issue rare lost classics. They are a small, local institution with an ever-growing reputation.

Situated in Glasgow’s Merchant City, Mono strive to provide a welcome environment coupled with an exciting variety of gigs and events, all encompassed in a community-centric environment. They’re a large venue, with a relatively small vegan kitchen so booking is advised as the wait for food can sometimes take about 30 minutes.

Mono’s food menu is well contrived and tasteful, and patrons can enjoy a selection of vegan sandwiches and wraps (with vegan cheese) or flatbreads. They also offer vegan pizzas and mains including tofu fish and chips, tofu salad, delicious Ethiopian inspired cauliflower tibs and many more eclectic vegan dishes.

For the little ones, Mono provides a kiddie’s vegan menu which includes mini mac and ‘cheese’, ‘fish’ and chips, falafel burgers and meat-free hot dogs.

Desserts involve indulgent chocolate mousse cakes, apple cakes and hot fudge sundaes.

Don’t delay, when next you are in Glasgow and looking for a fun, welcoming vegan vibe with food to match, be sure to visit Mono Café and Bar.
