Welcome to the Black Cat Café in Hackney. All their food, cleaning products and materials are 100% plan based and not tested on animals. As Black Cat Café is fully vegan, they fully support the idea that animals don’t need to be killed and tortured for us to live. Their food is both attractive and tasty and even people who aren’t vegan will be absolutely thrilled at their delicious selection of plant-based meals on offer.

They don’t profess to be a strictly healthy eating establishment and some of their food can be classed as junk food. However, some meals are healthier than others, so should you be looking for a healthy option the Black Cat Café can assist.

They are proud to be fully independent and offer a space to educate and raise awareness about worthy causes. They also have a small section of chocolates and local products on sale at their establishment, as well as a bookshop that sells fanzines, literature and vegan cook books.

The Black Cat Café makes what they like to call, scratch-made comfort food. They take inspiration from many different cuisines and cultures from around the world and reflect that in their dishes. They use fresh herbs, seasonal ingredients and source what they can from local producers.

Their menu includes a variety of satisfying, tantalising tastes such as a beef style burger made from seitan, BBQ tofu sandwiches, vegan lasagne made with soya mince, NY style bagels, delicious vegan moussaka and many more delights.

They also offer a selection of gluten free options and can cater for other allergies on request.

Come on through the Black Cat Café in Hackney for plant-based comfort food that will leave you fully satisfied.
