Veganism is on the rise with Brits eating 50% less meat in 2017. Gone are the days where the only available vegan product on the menu was a salad or tomato pasta, nowadays vegans are spoilt for choice. In London specifically, vegan only restaurants are on the rise and we have listed some of our favourites below.

Purezza Camden – Vegan Pizza

Purezza means Purity and was founded in 2015. They claim to be the first Vegan Pizzeria in the UK. When mozzarella is made with brown rice (which is half as fattening as dairy cheese) and dough is made fresh 48 hours before so it can mature, you know you have special is on its way.

Purezza’s menu includes ‘Here comes truffle’ served on a black truffle base with ‘mozzarella’, smoked tofu and forest mushrooms, the hot ‘Volcano’, for those that enjoy chilies, aubergines and spicy sauce and ‘telling Porkies’ filled to the brim with marinated pulled BBQ pieces. They also have a wide range of sides and delicious vegan desserts.

Purezza have branches is both Camden and Brighton.


The Blacksmith and the Toffee maker– Vegan Pub

For a more chilled out vibe, the Blacksmith and the Toffeemaker, situated on St John’s Street this fantastic vegan pub used recycled and biodegradable materials where possible. Their menu includes all the usual pub fare that’s exclusively vegan, such as vegan burgers, vegan mac and cheese, grilled cheese and fried, sticky tofu with cauliflower rice.

They are a dog friendly pub so you can bring your four legged buddy along as well.


Stem And Glory – Contemporary Plant Based Food

Stem and Glory, situated in Bartholomew Close was established via crowdfunding and provide reasonably priced, delicious designer vegan food.  Everything at Stem and Glory is made fresh and on site, by a team of very talented and passionate chefs.

Their menu includes a variety of vegan Darwin bowls, stuffed aubergines, pulled pork burgers, Thai green curry, and quinoa paella. Their craft beer, ciders and wines are all vegan as well.


Itadaki-Zen – Japanese Vegan Food

Itadaki-Zen in Kings Cross is a Japanese Vegan Restaurant that believe the food we eat acts as medicine. Meaning ‘Food for Life’, Itadaki-Zen offer a delicious selection of vegan sushi, miso soups, bento boxes, noodle dishes and much more.

Their Sushi Rice is made using age old methods and is their own unique recipe. By adding organic brown rice and special oils their rice is also easily digestible and very healthy. They also host weekend workshops that focus on Agriculture and food.


The Mother Works Café – Vegan Café

MOTHER is a vegan café in Hackney Wick serving nature’s goodness and devilishly delicious vegan food. They strive to produce zero waste and use recyclable materials where possible. They also offer discounts on their products if you bring your own takeaway boxes and cups.

MOTHER offer their very own cold pressed juices, vegan curries, burgers, bagels and a variety of vegan breakfast options. Their cold pressed juices can also be ordered and delivered city wide in London.
