The Glastonbury festival, set to take off in Somerset, England from the 26th-30th of June features some notable vegans this year. To the delight of many, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, and The Wu-Tang Clan are all set to perform.
Miley Cyrus is well known for her charity work and her support of good causes. She became vegan in 2014 after coyotes killed her dog and has featured in some notable work for Peta. She also runs a charity called the Happy Hippie Foundation which aims to rally young people to fight homelessness and support the LGBTQ youth.
She posted via Instagram how excited she was about the concert.
Billie Eilish, and American Singer has been vegan since she was 14 and has become one of the most streamed artists in the world. At this time, she is still a teenager.
Finally the Wu-Tang Clan are an American Hip Hop Group whose members are either vegan or vegetarian. The leader, RZA is vegan and has done some notable work for PETA in support of animal welfare.
The Glastonbury Festival is a five day festival of modern performing arts that provides a wide range of entertainment for its attendees. It hosts activities such as dance, comedy, live music, circus performances and many other contemporary arts. Leading rock and pop bands have headlined alongside other smaller bands and extensive media coverage has provided a stage for unknown artists to gain exposure.
The festival is inspired by hippie culture and free festival movements. After the 1970’s, the festival took place almost yearly and grew considerably in size as time progressed. Today, the Glastonbury festival is attended by more than 175, 000 people.
