Welcome to vegetarian shoes, a veggie shoe brand in the heart of Brighton. Robin Webb, the founder of Vegetarian Shoes started making shoes in 1990. Back then, as an entrepreneur, he made all his shoes himself and by hand (he knew how to make only one style, the basic lace up shoe.)

Inspired by stories of Africa, where shoes had been made out of recycled rubber from tyres, Robin began teaching himself how to make better designs (and as a veggie, products of the animal cruelty-free type.)

By use of a microfiber found in yacht upholstery, which looked like leather and was breathable, he began expanding his range. Back then, everything at Vegetarian shoes was made to order but due to the massive popularity of the products, word of mouth grew and soon Robin couldn’t keep up with the demand.

Fast forward to today, and Vegetarian Shoes is doing incredibly well as the go-to store for animal-cruelty free shoe shoppers. Unfortunately, Robin doesn’t make shoes anymore, he leaves that up to more skilled artisans in the European and English factories, but as he is still passionate about cruelty-free footwear he demands only the best quality for his patrons.

His range includes both men’s and women’s vegetarian sandals, shoes, boots and trainers as well as a fabulous variety of winter boots as well.
